Sunday Wrap Up
Guess I should catch up on all of this journal business.
I've been so busy this week with work and school and social commitments.
But its all good.
Today is Leap Day. My friend Sam proposed to her long time partner Matt. And guess what? He said YES!! WHoo-hoo! I'm so proud of her for taking a chance and going for it. All the best for the two of you.
did I mention that we got our letter from the Aussie government. We are one oath away from being true blue Aussies!!! whoo-hoo! I need to ring our local council to find out when they think the ceremony might be. I think we should organize some post-oath cocktails at the pub. I'm so excited.
Can I say that I am SO over Mel Gibson and his film. I think I'll pass. (Can you say over hyped??)
I'm currently crushing:
-Manila by Seelenlift
-Paul Verhoeven (I'm watching RoboCop right now!)
-My vintage sunbeam Mixmaster

Thifting, School, and Big Fish
Boy, I am turning into a Sunday Blogger. Good or Bad?
Don't know.
I got my Denise knitting needles. Wow are they nice. And I love how they are all in a fancy smancy storage case. And it fits on my bookcase. Now I just need the time to find that great first project.I've just been knitting in circles all weekend. But on that knitting note, I had a great thrifting weekend. One of the things I picked up is a Bond Ultimate Sweater Machine. (for $20AU!!!) I have to get one part before I can whip out some sweaters (aka jumpers). But I have an email into Bond to see how much it will cost to ship the $6.95 part to AU. On the thifting tangent I had one more score. I found a vintage Sunbeam Mixmaster that works!! After a bit of a clean up it has pride of place on my kitchen bench.
And we had our interview for citizenship this week. It took all of about 15 minutes. I think we waited in the waiting room for longer. But I think they really just wanted to make sure we are who we say we are. We are that much closer to being true blue Aussies.
School started up again. I am so loving this course. I feel like I'm heading in the right directions in my professional life. I really need to get out of retail. really, really. But more on that later.
Did I mention that we saw Big Fish? Good flick. Rob liked it a lot. So much so that he is now reading the book. He never reads fiction.

Rob and I went to
Rob and I went to The Rocks for lunch yesterday. We haven't been there for ages. Sometimes you forget about things that that in your own city. While poking around after lunch we came upon this shop called 'buttons, buttons, buttons'. Guess what they sell? But not just new buttons, but vintage ones too. I could have spent all day there. I'm gonna have to go back without the hubby.
and this link is mosly for my future reference. The site isn't working at the moment but it's the people who sell hot corn at places like The Rock markets and other outdoor events. Yesterday all the people working at the stall had on t-shirts that said 'Corn Fed' on the front. Now being the good midewstern gal that I am I feel the need to track one of these t-shirts down.
Hopefully it will be back up soon.
