I just got this link
I just got this link off of Kris. It is a bunch of before/after satellite shots of the devastation caused by the Asian tsunami. Wow. I mean you know in your head that lots of stuff got washed away. But here you can see the houses, parks, roads, etc in the 'before' shots that could be any neighborhood anywhere. Then, well, just brown mud. Wow. Some of the images from Banda Aceh have really floored me. These people are gong to need a lot of money to rebuild.
On a happier note, Australia donated over $15 million dollars last night when the three major TV networks ran a so-called 'star studded' telethon. And that money is on top of the $120 million already donated by the Aussie public to various aid agencies. Right now I am very proud to be an Australian citizen. (I think I'll sort that passport stuff out today...) (The Australian Red Cross. Just in case anyone out there has been living under a rock)
