Props

I'd like to thank the good folks at PABBIS for creating a concise reading list for me and the kids at my library. (this one's pretty good too)

Boy, it's a damn good thing these people are not in Australia, I'd hate to see what they would do if they read 'The Day My Bum Went Psycho'(which is one of the most popular books in my library). That would just melt their brains.

Oh, and when I read their 'book review' thingo I was reminded of when I saw Jello Biafra speak several years ago. He was talking about the ordeal he went through with the PMRC and he had this really funny image in his head of these up tight soccer moms having to listen to Megadeath and Dead Kennedys over and over while they try to analiye the lyrics. Too funny.
I get the the same mental image from this group. Can't you just picture some bottle blonde suburbanite keeping tally of how many beastiality references and decapitations there are in the latest teen book. BAH!

(oh, and while we are on the topic of books that some stick-up-the-butts hate, I just want to say, ONE MORE SLEEP TILL HARRY POTTER!!! whoo-hoo!!!)

I like how the Australian version of the book shows an actual backside, while the American version shows two little bumps at the top of the picture. Because we Americans are SCARED by bums.

Hmmm. Although the NZ version of the cover doesn't have an actual bum on it either, does it? It's just got a little guy that looks like two circles with arms and legs. Maybe Aussies are particularly bum-tolerant.
