a modest proposal
OK, I've had it.
This is a truck. This is a station wagon. This is a Jeep.
And as such, I am going to start calling them 'trucks', 'station wagons' and 'Jeeps' respectively.
Not SUVs. Not 4WDs.
Somehow I just don't think they deserve some 'special' name that's been created by some marketing bigwig. Maybe if they are called what they really are it might take a little bit of the shine off of them, they might seem a little less trendy.
But that's just me...join me if you like...

heh - the manufacturer of my car (hyundai santa fe) calls it an "XUV" (cross-over utility vehicle) because they built an "SUV" on a regular 4 door sedan chassis.
