aaand, were back
Five years ago this weekend, Rob and I dragged our families to Vegas to be a part of our 'big day'. One cat, two countries and three Star Wars prequels later we are still goin' strong.
This year we decided we should do something fun so we went away for the weekend. On Friday we drove out to the Blue Mountians and stayed at an 'eco lodge' called Jemby Rinjah. It was actually pretty cool, not too hippyish. We had our very own wood cabin (5 year anniversary is the 'wood' anniversary after all) It was also heated by a wood burning stove that came in handy because it was friggin' cold this weekend.
On Saturday morning we got up early and the place where we were staying did a bird feeding thing. We got to see Rosellas and King Parrots close up. Then we headed out for a bit of bushwalking. It was a bit overcast, but the hike was good. At one part the trail headed up to one outlook, and when I say up, I mean up, it was over 450 stairs, yikes (the 'Japanese style' spa was very nice after the hike). I took a few nice photos. Some flowers, trees, and at least one bee.
On the way back we were driving through a small town and there were a bunch of people hanging out near a train station, when we stopped and asked what was going on, it turned out that the 3801 was coming by in a few minutes. That was all Rob needed to hear, we were parked and cameras were out in about 2 seconds. The 3801 is the train that we were took for the Harry Potter book launch thing. This is my only good photo of the train.
But we are back home. The cat is purring in Rob's lap, and it is back to work tomorrow.

The picture that Rob took of the train is unbelievable. I wanted to post a comment on his blog, but I don't have an account with Flickr.

Happy anniversary! The Vegas wedding was definitely an unusual start to a marriage, but everything seems to have turned out great so far. Keep on truckin'!

Lynn - I posted the 3801 photo on my blog too. It's actually been updated (the original version of the file was a bit dark) and you can see before and after versions at yankinoz.robnamy.net
