California and Louisiana
Latey I've been listening to a lot of Dead Kennedys (maybe its the new iPod cozy...) Anyway, I got to thinkin' about the song 'California Uber Alles' (originally released in 1979, in case you are keeping score). It is such a great tune, very in your face, clever, biting, you know what I mean. But I'm just a sucker for Jello's voice.
Fast forward to the mid 90's and you might remember that the Disposables Heros of the Hypocrisy did an awesome hip hop cover of it. (But yet again, maybe I just love Michael Franti's voice..hmm...)
I think it has been long enough that it could be time for another cover. I'd love to see what System of a Down would do with it. With the current California administration I'm sure they could have some fun with it.
But what rhymes with Schwarzenegger?
Oh, and I've added a link to Snopes over there on the right. There has been a lot of rumours going around the 'net about what has and hasn't happened since Katrina and Snopes has done a pretty good job sorting the crap from the tuna fish. It's sad that this story is true. But kinda funny that this one is true. And just in case anyone though Kanye West was full of it, this article confirms the press confirms the AP has been a wee bit biased. (as if that is news)
