Myth Busted
So, the other night our very cool Windows XP Media Center Remote Control stopped working. The whole remote, not just one button, the whole bloody thing. It was working one minute and then, well, just not.
Well, Rob emailed the dude who sold us the remote and told him about our predicament.
Here is what he told us:
Take out the batteries, put them back in BACKWARDS, press and hold 'a bunch of buttons' for about 1/2 a minute. Then take the batteries OUT and again push 'a bunch of buttons' for about 1/2 a minute. Then put the batteries back in properly and see how you go.
It all sounded like a bunch of voodoo to me. I was sure the remote sales dude had been smokin' crack.
but....
It friggin' WORKED! I'm telling you, I am sitting here turning the volume up on Mythbusters right now. I would like to take back what I said about the remote dude and his choice of recreational activities. Really.
I am amazed.
