A few years ago I started setting myself 'birthday goals'. I'd write down a few things I wanted to achieve and then keep an eye on them throughout the year.
I don't usually post these, but I've decided to share with the class.
I usually start thinking about 'the list' when May rolls around and I can't just set any ol' goals, they have to be hard but achievable, measurable and reasonably positive (so I can't have 'take up heroin' as a goal). In the past I've I've tried to pick goals that move me in positive directions or make me do something I've been putting off.
So, today being my birthday, I've compiled my list.
Let's see how I go this year:
1. Finish school- this should be #1,#2 and #3
2. Clean out my closet- it is WAY out of hand
3. Go to the theater (or 'theatre' for the Aussies) at least 4 times this year- That's once a quarter, very reasonable I think. And I have one planned already.
4 Bake an apple pie from scratch
5. Eat dinner at the table more often- like 2 times a week at least
6. Do everything I can to get fewer cold this year- I'll probably turn into one of those people who washed their hands like 50 times a day!
7. Get a top 10 'interesting' photo on Flickr- I'm pretty convinced getting into the top 10 is just a mathematical equation...
that should keep me busy this year.

Birthday goals, what a great idea. Do you set new year resolutions as well?
I totally enjoyed doing #4 a few years back. Never did it again, but it sure was tasty. Actually mine was a crumble, not a pie, but it was from scratch. #6 is always a good goal to set, although I'm already in the middle of a cold, and it's not even Winter yet. Bleh.
Happy birthday Amy!

2. Let's have a clothes swap party - they're a hoot! Champgane & choc-dipped strawberries a must.
3. (Puts up hand.)
7. Two words - cup cakes.
Hope you're having a great day - you deserve to be spoiled rotten!

Happy birthday!
(If we take you to see Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind while you're here, does that count as one of your quarterly theatre visits?)
