Top Halloween Night
Rodd and Kris put on a brilliant party.
I mean they made a meat cake. A MEAT CAKE. (I don't eat meat, but you have to admit the mashed potato frosting is friggin' cool)
There were some awesome costumes.
Rodd and Kris did an ode to Australia, Andrew went where no one thought he would, there was a lay-dee or two and some went a little too far (just kidding).
We went as modern pirates.
Rob was a corporate pirate and I was a music pirate.
then we went to see Lazy Susan, who were brilliant! But that's a story for another post.

confession time
OK, time for me to fess up.
I've bought stuff from the so called 'skanky ho' store not once, but twice this week.
Sad, I know.
But in my defence everything I bought was for my Halloween costume.
Really.

We finally came up with something for our Halloween costumes.
FINALLY.
And it shouldn't be too hard or expensive.
Now you're just going to have to wait till next weekend for the pics.

random Wednesday Aussie TV stuff
If they take the set of Rockwiz and the format of Spicks and Specks they will have the perfect rock-n-roll Aussie game show.
But who would host? I like Adam Hills and Julia Zemiro.....
Oh the dilemma.
(Ok, seriously, the set of Spicks and Specks SUCKS! What's with the chains?!?!?!?)

one more PSA
From the brilliant mind of Robert Anton Wilson:
How to start your day with a positive attitude:
1. Create a "new folder" on your computer.
2. Name it "George W. Bush".
3. Send it to the trash.
4. Empty the trash.
5. Your computer will ask you: "Do you really want to delete "George W. Bush"?
6. Calmly answer, "Yes", and press the mouse button firmly...
Now, go out and buy a copy of The Illuminatus! Trilogy and the Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy. (or if you really like stuff that messes with your mind, try Cosmic Trigger)
But really, read something by RAW.
Buy something by him. He's funny, brilliant, over the top and like no one else.

Just gonna blog this one just because we still can't come up with halloween costumes.

gettin' all historic on your ass!
Late one night, when we were all in bed,
Mrs. O'Leary lit a lantern in the shed.
When her cow kicked it over,
She winked her eye and said,
There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight!
FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!
135 years ago today the Great Fire began, changing the landscape (and fire regulations) of Chicago forever.
Most American kids know the above rhyme and love it, I think, because they get to yell, 'FIRE!'. But as we all know by now, Mrs O'Leary was just a scapegoat. Her cow didn't kick the lantern over. Yes, there really was a Mrs. O'Leary, and she was Irish and Catholic, two things you didn't want to be in Chicago in the 19th century.
So she got blamed and no one really cared.
But hey, without the Chicago Fire we wouldn't have Grant Park and some of the most amazing public art ever.
For those who know the city a little bit, check out this amazing map of the progression of the fire. It still blows me away just how much of the city burned down.
ok, back to the lowbrow Idol crap....

oooh, Mark Holden just gave the BEST judge's comment EVER! He said about Damien's crappy disco performance, 'I seriously seriously hope that you do not get voted off tomorrow night, because do you know what that would mean, That means that I have to listen to that again!"
OOH BURN!!!
oh, and then there was a good old fashioned cussing out by James Mathison. (aka the bug-eyed-boy) Rock on!

It's only three weeks until Kris' annual halloween party and we have NO IDEA what to go as....
Is it too early for us to go as Steve and Terri Irwin?
hmmm....maybe I'll go prowl around Ebay and look for ideas.

Well, the BDO/07 list is out.
And all I can say is I'm pretty underwhelmed.
Jet, Muse, Scribe, Eskimo Joe, My Chemical Romance. Yawn.
I'd kinda like to see Killers and the Violent Femmes would be interesting, but other than that, I really could care less. Fingers crossed they will add a few more interesting bands to the list so we can see a shows this summer.
