| What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Midland "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. | |

Oooh! This is vaguely relevant: a man came into the bookshop with an american sounding accent and I was like "Are you from chicago?" because he sounded a lot like Rob, but it turned out he was Canadian!! OOPS! I apologised, and explained to him that he sounded like a friend!!!

Regarding the "Mary" thing on Kris' blog - if you can find someone from the Northeast USA, they can do the 3 different pronuciations. I USE to be able to do it when we lived in New Jersey and Connecticut.

Apparently I'd have a Northeast accent... if I had an American accent at all. :)
