update
Well we voted for the very first time in Australia. I felt the need to tell everyone I came in contact with that it was my first time. (here we are after coming out)
But I must admit that I was feeling both excited and apathetic about the whole thing. Excited because it's my first time and all but apathetic because I KNEW that all of my neighbours would be voting for the more conservative party (ironically known at the 'Liberal' party). But then again I do live in the north shore dahling. At least now when my local official royally f's up something I can say, 'hey, I didn't vote for him'
But check out some of those parties. 'The Fishing Party' 'Shooters Party' 'Australians Against Further Immigration'. You KNOW how I voted for that last one. I'm surprised there isn't a 'Pajama Party' or the 'Organic Farmers Party'
But then we decided to head off to the movies because it was so friggin HOT and we don't have AC. We ended up seeing Hot Fuzz, it was pretty funny and very British. Not quite as good as Shaun of the Dead but very entertaining.
But that's not the interesting part. The interesting was one of the movie trailers that we saw. It was for an upcoming kiwi film called Black Sheep. It's a comedy/horror where, because of an experiment gone wrong, the sheep in New Zealand become 'blood-thirsty killers'. I can't WAIT to see this one. It looks hysterical. With a tag line like 'Get ready for the Violence of the Lambs!' how can you go wrong? The movie web site is great, very very gory, but too funny.
There is even have a section of really baaaad sheep jokes.
