Help needed

Here's a question for ya:

At what time of night do I go bang on my downstairs neighbour's door and ask him to quit doing his acoustic renditions of Robbie Williams songs? (keep in mind he's not a very good singer and he seems to be 'practicing', which basically means he keeps playing the same song over and over and over. Good god, it's like being at an Idol rehearsal!)

What time do people have to knock off band practice on a school night? 10? 9? 11? 1?

In FL it's 10 PM during the week and 11 PM during the weekend. However, in FL they recommend you not go and knock on the door but rather call the Police. Why? Oh we have a few guns around and tempers that flar when drinking............! We've called the police twice since we've lived in FL with neighbors three house's away with loud muisc. Dad-e-o

Interesting. I should actually check to see what the local council says.
I'm not too fussed about knocking on his door, I met him and his Mum when he moved in. Seems like a nice enough guy.
Just crappy taste in music. :)

I think the local laws states that around 10pm the desabells have to be below a certain level, check out this web anyway....

Interesting. this site:

says that 30db is about as loud as a library. Now would that be a normal library or Mosman Library during toddler story time?

Regan plays LOUD guitar late at night (his amp doesn't have a headphone jack) and I'm so afraid we're going to get our ass kicked one night. So far, so good. I make him stop at midnight. I'm glad we're moving soon, no common walls or shared floor/ceiling!

Good thing you found a place with no common walls. Regan will have to learn how to play lullabies soon.

Interesting. Our neighbor Darren plays piano all the time (he gives lessons and plays in a band). I know I've heard him from the street, but I've never noticed what particular time he stops. Next time I'll ask him what the general etiquette is. (I'd never ask him to stop anyway, because he's really good!)
