I feel like I'm the only kid who didn't take photos of the lunar eclipes tonight.....That's cool, it was fun to watch.

Ah, back to work today.
I took Monday off after, what will be known for generations to come, the 'week of insanity'. (ok, let's just put it this way...at my work place we all have people who are our back up and we are back up for other people, anyway, because of a series of mishaps ALL THREE people that I am back up for were off last week...I was doing the jobs of FOUR people...EEK!)
We had a good weekend. Rob got back from Singapore Saturday morning (bearing jewelry for his lovely wife) and then I headed over to Wing's place to shoot him for a project we are involved with. Then over to Morgan's place to be shot for the same project. I can't decide which made me more nervous...trying to take a great photo of someone or be the model...lucky for me I really love and trust both guys so they made it easier.
Then Sunday was the annual 50's Fair and the Rose Seidler House. Always a rockin' good time. It was unbelievably warm. Ya gotta love it. Here are a few of my shots...the sun was SOOO bright that most of my shots came out way too hot. But I did pick up the most delicious cupcake I have ever eaten in my life....which, because of an unfortunate experience in a port-a-loo had to wait to be consumed until I got home....maybe the wait made it more yummy...maybe.
jeez, I'm late for work

I have never been so happy to think that tomorrow is Friday.
I tell ya, I'm on a mighty thin thread this week.
But there is a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, and I'm almost there.

YARRR! There is only a bit over one month until my favourite holiday on the calendar....International Talk Like a Pirate Day! Here is a little of what happened last year:
Oh yeah, should be fun.

Nine Inch Nails on Dance Party USA
(for those of you not privileged to have been in the US during the late 80's, here is more what I would expect from Dance Party USA)
(oh wait, wait, I just found something even better, Oingo Boingo on the Gong Show. Classic)

Best ad EVER.
The Mondo Pasta 'Noodleslurper'
It reminds me of the Crown Fountain at Chicago's Millennium Park.

Time to clean out my ears.
There is this British singer dude named Paul Potts coming to Australia on a promotional tour.
Every time they say his name on the TV I think they are saying that Pol Pot is coming to Australia.
And it keeps freakin' me out!!!!

what we learned today
Well, the house we had been wishing and hoping for finally sold.
To someone else.
It sucks, but I'm trying to be positive about the whole experience. We learned a lot about what we do (hard wood floors, Pettit and Sevitt style, gas, bush setting) and don't want (carpet, lots of grass to mow, leaking roof) in a house.
And we learned that we are willing to do some work on a place, but not huge amounts.
And we learned that we need to stick to our budget. There was an interest rate hike this week in Australia and that can add something like $100 a month to a loan.
So we are really, really, really back to the drawing board this time.
Wish us luck....

ramblings of a sick woman
A cool countdown clock of science fiction events in the past and future (Blade Runner, HAL, Spock's Death)
I didn't know that the 'Decepticon conquered the Autobots home planet of Cybertron' on January 1 2008. Boy, we better get ready. At least The Snook has a jumper for the occasion.
