shallow (update)

I figured something out today.

I don't like toe cleavage.

I need a good pair of black shoes for work and they seem to all be cut really far down this season. Where's a girl meant to find a good pair of nice Mary Janes in Sydney? (and I've been looking at Camper...the ones I like they don't have in my size, hurmph)

Well, after many phone calls and too much driving around Sydney I am the proud owner of a black pair Mary Jane style Hush Puppies (the style is called 'Dance' for those playing at hime.) And the bonus? They were on sale! How cool is that? I might just go back and buy them in red)

Put your thinking cap on

You are driving in a car at a constant speed.

On your left side is a 'drop off', (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are traveling on), and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you.

In front of you is a galloping horse, which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is a galloping zebra.

Both the horse and zebra are also traveling at the same speed as you.

What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

(the answer is the first comment)

yarr

I thought I should post this link so I could brush up on my pirate jokes for Saturday. I like this one:

Q: What goes thump-thump Arr!, thump-thump Arr!?
A: A pirate falling down the stairs!

Hubby

I took this one with my trusty little Trip 35. What's funny about that camera is that call it my 'black and white' camera because I never shoot colour in it. Funny.

I had my review at work this week.

I always dread these things, sitting talking about what you did and didn't do this year, trying not to sound like a whinger when you ask for a colour printer near your desk, thanking all the little people who helped you get there....

Anyway, the cool thing is that I got some interesting things added to my job desription. I now have the maintenence of our library blog added and all of my library photography work in there too. I know its only a little thing but at now I can say I'm a professional blogger/photographer.

Kinda cool

Spider Pig Moment (n)- The only quote-ably funny bit in a comedy film

Maybe I should add it to the Wikipedia page....hmmm.....

Everybody's bloggin' it

Oh Britney....what are we going to do with her?

Yes, the performance was, well, a ring in, but I didn't think she looked that bad. I actually thought she was looking pretty healthy. For her. But at least she can rest easy knowing that at least one of her exes has a successful career. Well done JT, I think it's your best work.

Ok, now back to being all indie n' shit....

Morrissey the Musical. Oh yes boys and girls...the plans are in the works. I'll have to practice looking all moody and uninterested just in case I get a chance to see it. (thanks for the heads up Ocelot)

Not really breaking news

Sometimes the news takes a little while to get all the way to this side of the world....

I just read that Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heros) is going to be playing Dr Spock in the next Star Trek film.
I don't know...that kinda creeps me out, maybe it will work.

But it does beg the question, what does Vulcan brain taste like?

weather

weather, originally uploaded by gadgetgirl.

See! Even Mother Nature is pissed off about APEC in Sydney. She's literally raining on their parade.

Posted by gadgetgirl at 10:44 AM

ug

There's a very interesting pool of photos of APEC over at Flickr. If you want to see just how sad the situation is in the CBD check it out.
This is the one that really gets to me.

But if I hear Sydney is in 'lock down' one more time I'm going to just pull up stumps and move to Adelaide. Bush wouldn't ever go to Adelaide...right? (lord knows he wouldn't be able to SPELL it)

cranky

How NOT to get re-elected:
Host and APEC meeting a month or so before an election.
And no, the 'Bush holiday' does NOT even begin to make up for turning Sydney into a police state.

If I wanted to live in Singapore, I'd live in bloody Singapore. At least then I'd know where I stood.

snicker

OK, there is somehting you should know about me.

I have an evil streak. Not the torture-small-insects-with-a-magnifying-glass kind of evil streak.

But I do LOVE the idea of getting a packet of these stickers and slapping the last one up all over Newtown.

BAH!

(I love the whole set, but the last one makes me laugh out loud)
