This lovely thing is the latest addition to our Library.
It's a Webster's Dictionary from the 1930's.
It really is a mighty book. And HUGE! It's over 6 inches thick.
But considering the age of it I don't think we will be able to use it for scrabble. :)
I really love reference books.
I remember when I was a kid in Georgia our neighbours had a full set of encyclopedia and I thought they were so posh. I can remember spending hours devouring the facts about everything from animals to cosmonauts.
All that information in one place. How luxurious.
I know these days everything is available on the internet if you look hard enough. But (and I'm going to show my age here..) it just isn't the same. Books are solid. Books are tactile. The give you much more than just the answer to your question. They give you the experience.
So this grand book will take pride of place in our little library. With all of our trashy paperbacks, travel guides, DIY manuals, knitting books and what not.
I hope it likes being being the centre of attention.
