Sweet Home
My Chicago screen print arrived this week. Yay! We bought the orange one. I'm pretty sure it's going up in the kitchen. I just love it.
Chicago means a lot to Rob and me. We met there. We spent a lot of time there. We fell in love there. It's a great town.
And coming from Peoria, Chicago was everything. Forget New York, if you could make it in Chicago, you could make it anywhere. It's not an easy city. If you don't pull your own weight, it will eat you up. But it is a varied city. The public art, the L, the Lake, the pizza, the summer neighbourhood festivals, Lincoln towing, St Patrick's Day, Oprah, State Street, The Holiday Club...good and bad...they are all make up one amazing city.
Some days I really miss it. Truly. and every time I look at that print I'll smile for sure.
But I do NOT the snot freezingly cold winters
